What is clamping and why does it work well in the Pexline Plumbing System?

Clamping is the term for pressing the aluminium sleeve pre-attached on the fitting around the pipe to form a permanent joint.

The correct clamp tool position when making a joint is squarely and approximately 2mm in from the end of the factory fitted clamp ring. Close the clamp tool handles completely and hold fully closed for approximately 2 seconds then release.

As the clamp tool clamps on to the aluminium sleeve, it 'work hardens' the section within the jaws of the tool, making a watertight joint and leaving a section of the aluminium sleeve on both sides still in the annealed state. This ensures that there is no stress on the pipe or the Pexline fitting.

Pexline clamp tools must only be used with the Pexline Plumbing System.
