What size holes should I feed Buteline pipe through timber frames, metal studwork or brickwork?

Bored holes and “pipe sleeves” should be large enough to allow free movement of Buteline PB-1 pipe. Below are the suggested minimum hole sizes. Larger holes may be required to ease pipe through if changing direction.

  • For 10mm pipe: Use 12mm drills
  • For 16mm pipe: Use 18mm drills
  • For 22mm pipe: Use 24mm drills
  • For 28mm pipe: Use 32mm drills

Use of silicone in the holes is not required.

When feeding pipe through metal studwork, concrete or brickwork, protective sleeves or grommets MUST be used to protect against abrasion.
