What size holes should I feed Buteline pipe through timbers / wooden framing?

Bored holes and “pipe sleeves” should be large enough to allow free movement of Buteline PB-1 pipe. Below are the suggested minimum hole sizes. Larger holes may be required to ease pipe through if changing direction.

  • For 18mm (Type 18) pipe: Use 18mm drill bit
  • For 22mm (Type 22) pipe: Use 24mm drill bit
  • For 28mm (Type 28) pipe: Use 30mm drill bit
  • For PE20 (20mm OD) PN16 Recycled Water / Rainwater Pipe: Use 22mm drill bit
