Installation Guide for Connecting to Copper Solder Tail
The Buteline Plumbing System is designed to be used with complete confidence. You will get a simple, controlled accurate joint every time. Below is a quick installation guide:
Before commencing any work involving heat processes, be sure to check that hot work is permitted.
Step 1 Cut Copper Pipe
Cut the copper pipe to length, ensuring the end is square.
Clean, and apply flux ready for soldering.
Step 2 Slide on Buteline Solder Fitting Socket
Slide the solder fitting socket onto the copper pipe, ensuring that the aluminium and plastic clamp ring assembly has been removed.
Step 3 Solder Joint
Using suitable lead-free solder, make a solder joint between the fitting and the copper pipe.
Step 4 Slide on Buteline Clamp Ring
AFTER the solder joint has COOLED, slide the aluminium clamp ring assembly onto the PB tail of the fitting, ensuring it goes fully up to the fitting shoulder.
Step 5 Insert Buteline Pipe
Simply insert the PB pipe into the Buteline fitting and push fully home to the shoulder of the fitting.
Step 6 Clamp
Clamp the Buteline fitting, using ONLY the Buteline clamp tool.
Position the Buteline clamp tool squarely, approximately 2mm in from the end of the clamp ring.
Close handles to stops, hold in the tightly closed position for a moment to ensure that the flow of material is performed.
Open and remove the tool.
Step 7 All complete!
